The Authors

Ana Ferreira has always shown an inclination for the artistic field, drawing her first Ninja Turtle by the age of four, and taking her first photo aged seven. In order to materialize her creativity in the real world, she studied Communication Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Lisbon.
After a year in an advertising agency, she is now working in a Lisbon based design studio, creating projects for web and print alike. Simultaneously, she loves to put her mind to more personal, self-initiated projects, like her own independent publication Rapture, the written word issue, and of course, the present Make it Public project.
Her interest for photography has led to continual experiments in this area, some of which were awarded photography prizes, and most recently resulted in an individual exhibition entitled “Formas do Quotidiano” (Everyday Shapes).

Elisabete Calixto was born in peaceful Alentejo, and from an early age took an interest in creative projects, showing talent towards drawing. After studying Arts in High School, she took off to Lisbon where she concluded the degree in Communication Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts. It was in this Institution that she developed her taste for photography and graphic design.
Her constant desire to learn has led her to enroll in several workshops from the most diverse areas. She loves everything that is portuguese, and she’s quite nostalgic, but always with an eye towards the future.
Elisabete’s housemate is her cat Nefertiti, who’s also her morning alarm clock.
